There are hundreds of ways to wear your hair up. You need to think about the look that you want to achieve, and about whether a certain updo is a good choice for your hair's length and thickness, and for the shape of your face. For some occasions, you may pursue a look of elegance, maybe even with a tiara. Other times, you'll want a casual style that suggests you didn't go to any trouble.

An updo can be done by yourself at home. If it's going to be your first time with an updo, or you're unsure whether you'll get it right on your own, going to a stylist may be the best idea. A stylist is also probably the right choice for really important occasions, or if you want an elaborate updo. You can find lots of pictures and instructions starting further down this web page.
